If you are interested in becoming a career coach, it is imperative that you are able to work with people easily. You must like being around others and sharing in their joys. You should also have the basic ability to plan and organize. We will need to have the ability to recognize an individual’s strengths and their weaknesses. You will need to be able to properly assess these areas in order to assist an individual in gaining a job in the field that is right for them.

You must also have the qualification to instruct another on the proper job interview skills. Many times, there are many individuals that have real difficulty obtaining a position that they want due to the fact that they freeze up during the interview process. As a career coach, you will provide many individuals the tools that are necessary to achieve their goals by the use of practicing good interview skills.

In addition to being able to teach an interested individual important job skills, you must be able to effectively coach someone so that they are able to perform to their potential. You must be a very encouraging individual that really strives to see the best in others. Many career coaches may actually take courses in psychology and similar courses so that they may understand the basic needs and wants of all individuals. Though this is not a standard prerequisite, it is a career coaching qualification that can be very beneficial.
